Solan: Ravinder Pal Gautam, a senior teacher and Head- Faculty of Mathematics at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, has brought laurels to the school and the State of Himachal Pradesh, securing third position in the Senior Secondary School Mathematics category in the international competition organized annually by the Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA).
Thousands of participants worldwide were judged on four themes in this competitive category: pedagogy, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. R.P. Gautam hails from Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh. He has been a career teacher, passionately contributing to the holistic development of students for over three decades. While he stood third in his subject category, he bagged 13th position overall in the Wise-gen category, which encompasses all other categories. He was also awarded the Teacher’s Excellence Award in 2015 for his excellent board result in Mathematics in the CBSE Board Senior Secondary Examination.
“I feel this achievement is a validation of the pedagogy I have been practising as a teacher for over thirty years. I would encourage more and more teachers to register themselves for CENTA TPO as it helps us become better learners and more effective teachers. Gautam, who has been associated with The Lawrence School, Sanawar, in various vital capacities for over twenty-five years.
