Solan: India’s prestigious school, The Lawrence School, Sanawar celebrated Hindi Sahitya Samaroh -2024 under the theme ‘Knowledge, Expression and Excellence’. On this occasion, Hindi poetry recitation and story writing competition was organized, in which eight reputed schools from across the country participated in various literary activities with great enthusiasm. The participating schools iwere : Birla School (Pilani), Pinegrove School (Subathu), Sainik School( Rewa), D.A.V. Public School Lakkad Bazaar,(himla), Durga Public School( Solan), Kasauli International Public School, St. Mary’s Convent School(Kasauli) and The Lawrence School, Sanawar.
Sainik School Rewa performed the best and secured first place winning the overall trophy. While The Lawrence School, Sanawar secured the second place, A.V. Public School Lakkad Bazaar Shimla secured third place.
In the Poetry Recitation Competition, Bhumika Sharma of DAV Public School Lakkad Bazar secured first place, Yashvi Sood of The Lawrence School, Sanawar got the second place and Swastik Tripathi of Sainik School, Rewa got the third place while the consolation prize was won by Samar Gautam of Pinegrove School, Subathu.
In the Story Writing Competition, the first place was won by Abhay of Sainik School, Rewa and the second place was won by Sanvi of Pinegrove School, Subathu. While Garisha of Kasauli International School won the third position, the consolation prize was won by Srishti Priya of The Lawrence School, Sanawar.
Dr. Shiv Bhardwaj, Deepak Sharma, Himank Kapil and Vandana Sharma were the judges on the occasion. Sudesh Kumar Mokta, the Managing Director and Horticulture Development Project Director, graced the event as the chief guest. He congratulated the winners and awarded them with their well deserved prizes. While encouraging the students, he said, “Time is our greatest teacher. We must respect time and make the best use of it in order to live a prosperous and purposeful life.” He further said, “Sanawar is a school with an immensely rich heritage and tradition and most of the students of Sanawar have made valuable contributions in nation building.” The Headmaster of the school, Himmat Singh Dhillon congratulated the participants of all the participating schools and the Oriental Language Department of The Lawrence School, Sanawar for successful organisation of the event.
