The Lawrence School, Sanawar is crowned “India’s Best Vintage Co-ed Boarding School”

Solan: : Living up to its sobriquet “The Best School of All”, The Lawrence School Sanawar, has been ranked Number ONE, both in India and the State of Himachal Pradesh where it is located, in the Vintage Co-ed Boarding Schools category by the EducationWorld that announced on Friday its India-Schools Ranking (EWISR) for the year 2024-25. EWISR 2024-25 is the World’s largest and most in-depth school ratings and rankings survey based on field interviews with more than 8,500 knowledgeable stakeholders in school education countrywide. The Headmaster, Himmat Singh Dhillon, received the award on behalf of the School during the award ceremony held at The Leela Ambience Hotel, Gurgaon on October 18, 2024 that witnessed the largest annual gathering of K-12 education leaders widely covered by the print and television media.

Expressing happiness over the recognition, the Headmaster of the school, Himmat Singh Dhillon said, “We are committed to uphold the rich legacy of Sanawar as this distinction has inspired the Team at Sanawar to go the extra mile. This recognition is once again an emphatic validation of our vision, mission and disposition in the world of education. The recognition and recognition bestowed upon the school further added to the euphoria on the hill top as it celebrated its 177th years of its foundation in the first week of October. Founded in 1847, The Lawrence School Sanawar is arguably the oldest co-educational residential school in the world. 

Awards and accolades have been part and parcel of the school’s 175 yearlong glorious journey. Soon after its inception in 1853, the school became the first and one of the only six schools and colleges in the world to be presented with the King’s Colours and holds the distinction of holding the Colours for the longest unbroken period. Not resting on its laurels, the School has continued to retain its leadership position in the field of education since its independence and its contributions have been recognized with many awards and accolades. The school was awarded with ‘The Progressive Reading School Award’ and ‘Collaborative Excellence Award” as recently as in the months of September and October respectively.
