Fire Breaks out in Parwanoo

Upon hearing the explosion, the villagers swiftly responded, rushing to the spot and promptly evacuating the building. Three bikes and three Activa scooters were caught in the blaze, resulting in the destruction of the vehicles and six to seven electric meters.

Residents were startled awake by the sudden blast, and immediate action was taken to ensure the safety of everyone inside the three-storey building. The building primarily housed workers employed in the industries of the Parwanoo area, and many of them had parked their vehicles in the vicinity.

Fortunately, the fire was quickly brought under control, thanks to the timely arrival of a water tanker near the building. This containment was crucial, as the situation could have turned catastrophic had the flames spread to the gas cylinders stored in the rooms.

In the midst of the chaos, some individuals trapped on the upper floors had to be rescued using ladders. However, the fire near the stairs prevented others from descending safely. Faced with no other option, a few occupants on the roof resorted to jumping to safety, while some were forced to lower themselves using tied bed sheets.

Following the incident, five injured individuals received immediate medical attention and were subsequently referred to PGI Chandigarh for further treatment. Local authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of the damages.

The Ambota village community is deeply relieved that the situation did not escalate further, and they are thankful for the prompt response of the locals, which prevented a potential disaster.
