Hyderabad: The national executive committee meeting of Indian Journalists Union (IJU) will be held on Saturday and Sunday after a long gap in Hyderabad. The meeting, organised for the first time after the formation of Telangana State, will be attended by the representatives from almost all States and union territories
including Assam and Ladakh.
The two-day meet on 23 and 24 October will deliberate on the issues concerning the profession of journalism, freedom of the press, growing attacks on working journalists along with media houses and overall
safety & security of journalists in the country, said IJU president K. Sreenivas Reddy.
V. Srinivas Goud, Telangana minister for excise, tourism & sports and B. Vinod Kumar, vice-chairman of Telangana State Planning Board will address the NEC meet held at Tourism Plaza of Begumpet in Hyderabad, which has been hosted by the Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ).
