Solan: During a massive public gathering at Parwanoo last evening, Himachal Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced the establishment of a Jal Shakti Vibhag Mandal (division) in the Kasauli assembly segment at Dharampur. This announcement fulfills a long-awaited demand of the people in the constituency. Starting from January 1, 2024, the division will be operational, addressing water-related issues and water resource management in the region.

In addition to this significant announcement, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the up-gradation of the link road and parking of Terminal Mandi at Parwanoo. The completion of this project, with a total cost of Rs. 18.50 crore, will enhance transportation facilities and provide better accessibility to the area.

Kasauli assembly constituency holds immense importance as a tourist destination in the state, serving as a gateway to Himachal Pradesh. Recognizing its significance, the state government has prioritized the planned development of the constituency. Chief Minister Sukhu assured that ample funds will be allocated to ensure its comprehensive growth and improvement.

The Chief Minister emphasized that their government’s primary focus is serving the people and ensuring equitable development for all citizens. They are dedicated to bringing about a positive change (‘Vyavstha Parivartan’) and bridging the gap between the rich and the poor.

Recognizing the crucial role of roads in development, the Government aims to improve road connectivity, enhance education standards, and provide better healthcare facilities to the people of the State. They aspire to transform Himachal into a leading state, offering high-quality basic infrastructure within the next four years.

The State Government is determined to revitalize the state’s economy, which has been severely impacted by recent natural calamities. They have appealed to the Central Government for substantial financial assistance to support the recovery efforts. The Government also acknowledges the importance of careful planning and expert engineering in constructing roads and tunnels, especially in the geographically challenging Himalayan regions, to prevent future disasters.

During a devastating recent disaster, the state government took swift action to provide immediate relief to those affected, both individuals and businesses. Rescue operations were conducted efficiently to evacuate stranded tourists. Despite this difficult time, the Chief Minister expressed disappointment in the opposition for engaging in politics rather than standing united to uplift the State. They assured that all opposition queries would be addressed effectively during the upcoming assembly session.

In the past, the previous government opened numerous schools without adhering to proper standards, leading to a decline in the quality of education. However, the current state government has taken a different approach. The Chief Minister announced the establishment of Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding Schools in each assembly constituency, aiming to provide comprehensive education and elevate educational standards.

Addressing the issue of corruption in the Himachal Pradesh Subordinate Selection Board, Hamirpur, the Chief Minister declared its disbandment and assured the public that a new employment institute would be set up. This institute will prioritize transparency and merit-based selection, ensuring fair opportunities for the youth. The Chief Minister expressed his commitment to providing employment to deserving candidates based on their merits.

During a special event, various organizations presented donations for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The Arhtiya Association Parwanoo donated Rs. 11 lakh, Gurdwara Sahib Shree Singh Sabha Parwanoo contributed Rs. 1,51,000, and Parwanoo Vikas Manch offered Rs. 50,000.

Speaking at the event, Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, highlighted the benefits of expanding the terminal market in Parwanoo, especially for horticulturists and other stakeholders in the state.

Agriculture Minister, Chander Kumar, mentioned the government’s efforts in upgrading facilities at fruit and vegetable mandis to support farmers and horticulturists in the region. He congratulated the people on the establishment of the grand terminal market in Parwanoo, which will further enhance agricultural practices in the state.
