Solan: In a remarkable display of academic and cultural prowess, the Department of Education, GC Solan recently organized “EduFest” to commemorate National Education Day. The week-long festivities began with painting competition, slogan writing competition, and declamation contest which were held on November 2, 2023 and concluded with a cultural function on November 8, 2023.These events showcased the artistic, creative and oratory talents of the participants, highlighting their passion for learning and expression.
Dr. Lalit Guleria Officiating Principal GC Solan presided over as the chief guest of the function.The cultural event was a spectacular display of talent. The program started with lighting of the lamp and worship of Goddess Saraswati followed by a mesmerizing dance performance by Ekta. Alongwith, the program included various dance performances, soul-stirring music, inspirational skit and speech. The students enthralled everyone by displaying their art together.
At the end of the program, the Dr Yogesh Kumar honored the winners of various competitions by giving them awards for their excellent performance. In painting and poster making competition, Khushnuma, Pallavi and Sania secured first, second and third position respectively. In the slogan writing competition Princi, Muskaan and Adarsh stood first, second and third. On the other hand, Kashish, Damini and Kritika won the Declamation competition by securing first, second and third position.
In his inspirational address, Dr. Yogesh Kumar said that education is an effective medium for all-round development of personality. The aim of education is not just to get a degree but to build a strong tomorrow so as to effectively face various challenges of life.
At the end, the convener of this function, Dr Nisha Manta Assistant Professor of Department of Education, congratulated the award winners and thanked everyone for making the function successful.
