Solan: District’s Deputy Commissioner, Manmohan Sharma, visited the severely damaged National Highway 05, resulting from a heavy landslide near Chakki Mor. During his visit, Deputy Commissioner Sharma issued necessary directives to officials from various departments, including the National Highway Authority, to expedite the repair of the damaged highway.
According to local authorities, the Chandigarh Shimla Highway (NH-05) has suffered extensive damage due to the landslide near Chakki Mor in Parwanoo. Restoration and repair work is currently underway to address the situation. To ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid jams, Solan Police advises the public to follow an alternate traffic plan as follows:
- Vehicles heading from Shimla to Chandigarh:
- Heavy vehicles should take the Shimla-Kunihar-Nalagarh-Pinjore route.
- All vehicles coming from Kumarhatti to Chandigarh diverted to Nahan Road. Light vehicles should use the Johadji-Kamli Marg route.
- Vehicles coming from Chandigarh to Shimla:
- Light vehicles bound for Shimla should use the Parwanu-Kasauli-Dharampur road.
- Heavy vehicles moving from Chandigarh to Shimla should opt for the Kala Amb-Nahan-Kumarhatti route.
Following this alternate traffic plan, the general public can help ease traffic congestion and facilitate the ongoing repair work on the damaged highway.
